The internet is being used for all manner of things such as shopping, email, searching, researching, learning, entertainment, and even to order some pizza. But with all this latest technology comes accountability. As well as large companies have used the internet to pass along their message and engage in commercial affairs online, so do some unscrupulous individuals use the internet to exploit the innocent. Two of the most frequent types of victimization include: Spyware and Adware.

Spyware is the nastier of the two and works by capturing our personal information and passing it along to a third party for monetary gain. Much of this software are decidedly brilliant at cloaking the fact that they are even situated on your pc, and the only way to see correctly is to run a scan from a creditable source of supply.

Adware is considerably easier to discover, but just as laborious to oust. The most common sign of it being installed would be those tiresome pop-ups that keep popping up in spite of your pop-up blocker. When Door Locks Go Crazy

One of the nice things about having family living somewhere popular is that often they’ll let you stay with them saving you the cost of a hotel. Years ago my wife and I were visiting her brother and stayed at his place . He gave us a key so we could come and go as we pleased while he was at work or with his friends.

One time we came home from the movies and I put the key into the keyhole and turned it and to my horror the key broke right off in the dumb lock. For some reason his apartment had a small window that wasn’t locked so I decided to try and get in that way. I made it through the window fearing that if I was spotted I would be in big trouble. Getting the front door open was fairly easy since the busted key hadn’t interfered with the lock in any way. I got the front door unlocked fairly easily and thought I had better report the problem to management.

Thankfully for me there was someone there that day doing work as this apartment complex did not have any management on duty and they had a worker come and install a new lock and give us new keys. I recall worrying that we maybe would get questioned since we had been crashing at his apartment for about 2 weeks and I was naïve and thought they would try and charge him more rent but in reality they didn’t care.

It was this and a few other things like keys sticking in the lock that got me to finally decide to look for a new front lock that would protect us. Since I had done some initial research I thought that the following features would be very important in making a choice…

  • Vandalism proof
  • Ease of use
  • Allowed guest access
  • Attractive
  • Good value

I found a place that had some nice articles here: keyless entry deadbolt. Maybe it will help you also but in summary here is what I decided…

After I don’t know how much time spent researching locks I decided that the lock that had the most flexibility and more importantly protection was the AP501 from Sunnect lock. What impressed me was a glowing in-depth review written by The National Locksmith Magazine that said at the end of the write-up:

“The Sunnect electronic door lock is a very impressive product. It’s the first stand alone door lock I have seen in a long time that really took a completely different approach in its lock design. It is built like a tank, is a dream to install and operate, and for what you get, has a price point that will make anyone smile. If you do any kind of stand alone lock installations, you owe it to yourself and your potential customers to take a look at the Sunnect product. I think if you do, you will be as impressed with this product as I am, and I can assure you that this one I’m keeping.

This lock is far superior than other door locks I read about because of all of the features like…

Simple 3-step code registration procedure (can use from 3 – 20 digits) and 100% digital keys (up to 20 keys and 1 master) and quick and safe removal of any lost or misplaced keys from the lock’s computer

A standard door and a Phillips screwdriver is all it takes to install

Special circuitry stops any high-voltage shock attempt to defeat the lock

Auto lock feature locks door after around 3 sec. When it is shut but can be turned off during high traffic

Duty checked over 200,000 times which approximates 54 yrs. Of opening a door 10 times a day under the most extreme weather and temperature conditions

Made to resist sawing, hammering, drilling and even a gunshot

I have never seen a door lock that could be shot at and still operate and to me that is icing on the cake!!

After shopping around I determined that the best deal was at Amazon.com due to the fact that I have bought many goodies from them and have never had an issue with my order. Most of the time they have the best price, the item is in stock and they offer free shipping too and returning stuff is so simple.

Just in case you are interested in new locks I have added a link to the page on Amazon so you can read more about this fantastic lock.
