Voting For The Clarinets
Our next school board meeting was scheduled to be held on next Wednesday . In the meeting the authorities would fix the cost for next year’s middle school music program. We were just a little concerned of the fact that amount allotted may get subtracted.
I fixed a meeting at a local diner with five other Centennial Junior High School teachers of our district. Hannah, Kimberly, Patricia, Emily, and Nicole were all of the same opinion as me about finding a different way of fund-raising for our own musical programs just in case the cost got cut.
All of us put our mind at the job and lastly after quite an amount of Americano all of us came up with some brilliant ideas. We decided that arranging bake sales and also a raffle would be the best way to arrange for money within the given time duration.
After having everything more or less settled, we went to the school board meeting to formulate our case. Actually, we even took some students from the school along, to voice their feelings about how precisely important music was to them. We were geard up to face school board’s judgements.
Just as we had apprehended the board cut down school budget for music. However, we were happy that this difference wouldn’t be too difficult for us to cope with. We would be able to manage the rest with this approximated collection from bake sales and raffle.
We divided the task between ourselves. Elizabeth and Vicki organized the yard sales. Gracietook over the raffle and securing the prizes to give away. And I started working on ordering all the new instruments.
It looked all of us desired for %%%Buffet Crampon clarinet%%% from France. It had been quite natural simply because they were most sought after because of their quality and track record.
Apparently, the Buffet R13 Clarinet, the Buffet E11 Clarinet, as well as the Contra Bass Clarinet were the ones that required yearly replacement at every school. This may be because the students desired them the most. It’s quite natural since the Buffet E11 Clarinet clarinet which consists of flexible register in every tones made it popular amongst advanced clarinet students while and the Buffet R13 Clarinet were more suitable for beginners.
A few of the boys chose to play the Contra Bass Clarinet simply because these are big and powerful and yet lower in tone. I set up a Clarinet For Sale advertisement to sell off the older ones, and use that money to get the ones we really needed.
The bake sales and raffle were really profitable and we could actually gather all the extra bucks we required. We could order all the clarinets we needed and it was so very exciting to have them delivered on time.
